Do you want to avoid your house key being copied without permission?

You can’t remember where you’ve left your bag or briefcase; you’ve left a key with the bricklayer for a few days to carry out some refurbishment work; your tenant has left the house you had rented to him; and so on. Who hasn’t found themselves in any of these situations and has ended up changing the lock just in case? They all mean money, time and worry.

But there is a way to avoid uncontrolled copying of our keys. Patented cylinders are the solution. Users who install a patented cylinder acquire an ownership card with their purchase which is essential to make new copies. In this way, presenting the key at the shop will not be enough to have a duplicate made and, in addition, it can only be ordered in authorised establishments, since the process is very demanding. The copies are made at the factory (the blank key* is not distributed in the market) and within 48 hours they will be available at the point of sale in a sealed envelope.

Ultimately, the objective is to maintain control of all the copies that are made to identify who has one. The duplicates that are created are also always original and quality keys.

Good examples of patented cylinders are the TESA ASSA ABLOY TK100 and TX80. They provide the lock with high security thanks to the system to prevent copies being made and anti-bumping features, currently the most reported theft technique.

We must remember that the door is the most vulnerable point of the house, so we must add all possible impediments so that thieves cannot gain access. A quality armoured door, a patented anti-bumping cylinder, a key with a system preventing copying and a protective escutcheon are the ideal combination to protect our home. With complete security!

*Blank key: the key before it is cut, used to make copies.

  • Do the neighbours complain about the main entrance door to the building?

Either the door slams shut or it stays half open, or needs to be pushed hard to open it, or it breaks on a regular basis, etc. Main entrance doors are the source of many complaints in most communities of residents. The root cause of these incidents is usually an essential component: the door closer. It is a component that is responsible for the essential task of automatically and safely closing high traffic doors, but which largely goes unnoticed by the general public.
