TESA ASSA ABLOY has renewed its commitment to Real Unión Club de Irún and extended the joint project until June 2027
Last updated: 19 February 2026
TESA ASSA ABLOY and Real Unión Club de Irún have renewed the sponsorship agreement that the two organisations signed a season and a half ago, extending their partnership until 30 June 2027. The continuation of this partnership will enable the project to digitise and modernise access to the Stadium Gal using the SMARTair solution to continue, whilst strengthening the bond between two historic institutions with deep roots in the Bidasoa region.
For us, this renewal means more than just a sponsorship agreement. It confirms that we are building a solid partnership with an institution that is an integral part of the local identity. Our commitment to the region is unwavering, and we want to continue adding value not only to the club but also to the community, by promoting spaces that are safer, more accessible and better equipped for the future
Urtzi Zubiate, Managing Director, TESA ASSA ABLOY
For his part, Igor Emery, chairman of the board of directors at Real Unión Club de Irún, has emphasised the importance of continuing this partnership:
It is a great pleasure to continue working alongside TESA ASSA ABLOY, a leading company and a benchmark in the region that has helped us grow during these first two years together. This partnership extends beyond the sporting arena. We share the vision that Stadium Gal is a city space, a meeting place that must evolve, open up and offer better services to everyone who enjoys it, from the youngest players to the oldest, without forgetting their families.
Igor Emery, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Real Unión Club de Irún
The extension of the agreement strengthens the partnership between two key players in the Bidasoa region – one from the industrial sector and the other from the sporting world – with a vision that goes beyond football. Whilst Real Unión Club de Irún continues to work on strengthening its sporting and social initiatives, TESA ASSA ABLOY will continue to contribute its expertise in security and access control to ensure that Stadium Gal becomes a benchmark for innovation at a local level.
With over a century of history, Real Unión Club de Irún remains one of the most iconic clubs in Spanish football, whilst TESA ASSA ABLOY maintains its position as the leading Spanish manufacturer of locking and access control solutions. The renewal of this agreement marks another step forward in a partnership that reinforces local identity and shapes the future of two institutions that share roots, values and ambition.
