Description: The project proposes an atrium as a connecting element between the existing building and the new laboratory tower. The new 8,500-square-meter building will feature state-of-the-art technology for research and teaching.
It was designed by Juan Pablo Ortiz Arquitectos + Taller 301, who selected the leading Spanish manufacturer and supplier of door and access control solutions to specify all the doors for the Javeriana University building, due to the firm’s team of experienced professionals and the design tools it employs to execute projects.
Installation year: 2020
The project
The architects in charge of managing the project chose TESA ASSA ABLOY for its team of professionals and specification tools, as well as for its extensive product catalog and the proven quality of its solutions, which means the architects only need to work with a single supplier for door hardware.
One of the main solutions specified was mechanical master keying with TK6 high-security cylinders, both for European-profile doors and Titanium series security locks. This solution allows multiple doors to be opened with a single key, and key duplicates can only be obtained by presenting the ownership card issued upon installation of the master keying system.
The new Javeriana University building also features TESA ASSA ABLOY door closers for controlled door closure; Quick mortise and Universal surface-mounted panic bars to ensure safe and effective evacuation; 2UB0 and 2030 security locks; fire-rated hardware, with CF60 locks and Vector series exterior actuators; and the Traka 21 system for the electronic management of mechanical keys, as well as glass locks for glass doors.
